If you weren’t already planning a trip to Scottsdale, I have a feeling this post is going to change your mind! This past weekend I went on a bachelorette trip to Scottsdale, Arizona, and absolutely loved it. This was my second time in Phoneix, and I have to say, it has quickly become one of my favorite places to visit in the US.
Whether you are planning a Bachelorette trip or are just looking for a fun getaway, keep scrolling for the recommendations about everything you need to know to have an amazing weekend in Scottsdale!
I flew into the Phoenix airport with my cousins. We took an early flight out from Atlanta so we could arrive early morning to make the most out of our day. Highly suggest doing this OR taking a red-eye to get in the night before so you have as much time as possible with your girls.
Where to Stay in Scottsdale?
We stayed at the JW Marriott Camelback Resort and Spa. Talk about the most beautiful hotel!. I cannot stress how beautiful the resort was. The resort has the perfect view of the camelback mountain. Everything from the pool, the spa, and the rooms are amazing at this resort.
The resort also has restaurants on the property that serve delicious food and drinks as well. Every morning we would start our morning with a sweat session at their yoga studio, which offers a variety of classes, and then head to the restaurant for a great breakfast.
Would highly recommend this resort if you are looking to spend the weekend with your partner or your girlfriends.
NOTE: the JW Marriot is not a turn-up type of hotel. We had so much fun and I’m so happy we got to experience the pool and the amazing view but the vibe of the hotel is definitely more calming and relaxing. I would 100% go back with Parth for a romantic getaway, but if you’re looking for a place that calls for a party hype group of girls, this might not be the best option. However, if you’re looking for a resort to relax, enjoy the spa, get in a chill pool day, and experience the amazing view, definitely check it out. The property is beautiful and you need to experience it.
Also, I do want to point out that the JW Marriot Camelback Resort and Spa is not an all-inclusive resort.
Another great property to stay at in Scottsdale is the Andaz Scottsdale.

Fun things to do in Scottsdale with your girls:
Explore Old Town Scottsdale:
No visit to Scottsdale would be complete without a visit to Old Town!
Old town Scottsdale is home to boutique shopping, luxury shopping, world-class art galleries, museums, and public monuments.
There are also bars, lounges, restaurants, and clubs that offer a great nighttime vibe.
Hike the Camelback Mountain
If you are looking to do something challenging with the girls, hiking the Camelback mountain will be a great one.
There are two trails you can choose from depending on your fitness level. The Echo Canyon hike is the more rugged of the two and requires steep climbs and scrambling over large rocks.
The Cholla Trail, while a little bit less strenuous, ends by having to climb up steep grades with drop-offs on each side.
Both hikes are a total of 2.5 miles.
Hot Air Ballon Flights
We initially had the hot air balloon flight booked for sunset, but due to the weather and the wind, it was canceled. If you are wanting to do something more bougie with the girls, definitely look into taking a sunrise or sunset hot air balloon flight. Enjoy 360-degree unobstructed views of the desert from 400-feet above the ground.
There are various companies that offer it so I am sure you will be able to find the one that suits your needs, but I have heard that Hot Air Expeditions offers a great one.
ATV Rides in Scottsdale Sonoran Desert
Another great suggestion for your girls’ weekend in Scottsdale is to explore the area on a guided tour or experience.
We went for the ATV ride through Stellar Adventures in the Sonoran Desert. It was quite adventurous and a great way to learn a little bit more about the desert.
Go to the Spa
Be sure to save room for some spa time during your Scottsdale girls’ weekend.
Though there are several great options, we chose top-rated The Spa at Camelback Inn as the place to be pampered.
The Camelback Spa offers custom massages, signature facial treatments, body wraps, and salon services.

My Favorite Places to Eat in Scottsdale
Mission– Mexican Food, with delicious spicy margaritas, the freshest guacamole, amazing entrees, and the cutest milkshake and churro combo for dessert.
Barrio– Another great spot for Mexican food in Oldtown Scottsdale. If you decide to go here and order some enchiladas, make sure you order the green sauce enchiladas and not the one with the red mole sauce. Oh, and they have one of the best Jalapeno margaritas.
Farm and Craft- we had the yummiest lunch at Farm and Craft. If you’re familiar with True Food, you’ll love this spot! It’s a slightly more upscale and trendier vibe and the food was SO good. They had the freshest cocktails – think fresh fruit & veggie juices with lots of alcohol. The food was healthy and tasty. And the decor was really fun.
The Breakfast Club- the breakfast club also is one of the best spots for some omelets and delicious breakfast options. The wait time here is always a little crazy though.
Olive and Ivy– a great spot for some pasta. Be sure to consider their $25 lunch deal that includes both a salad and flatbread choice, as well as an entire bottle of red or white wine.
How to get around in Scottsdale, Arizona
We rented a car for the weekend which definitely worked best for our group. There were 7 of us total so a large SUV was perfect for getting us all around.

Hi there! You were right. After reading your post, I really changed my mind. I was planning a trip with my girlfriends somewhere else, but I’m now starting to fall in love with Scottsdale. Thank you for the beautiful ideas on how we should spend our weekend. I guess my friends would love the hiking, hot air balloon and ATV rides, the spa, the wine tasting, and the food trip. But is it cheaper to rent a car than try public transport?
I am so happy you enjoyed the post. Renting a car is for sure expensive but I am not sure if Scottsdale even has public transport which is easily accessible.
