At-Home Date Night Ideas: 4 ideas for a perfect date

At-home date night ideas

Valentine’s Day is around the corner and since we cannot do much right now, I thought, a post about at-home date night ideas may be helpful for many of you out there.

To be honest, I am not much of a Valentine’s day kind girl. I have never been super keen on celebrating it. But, this past year since Covid and quarantine hit, and we are not able to do much, me and Parth take advantage of any celebration we can have.

On the other hand, date night has always been a thing for us. I think it’s safe to say that no matter how long you’ve been with your partner, it’s important to fuel your relationship. That totally looks different for everyone. For Parth and I – creating memories and experiencing things together keeps the romance and intimacy alive. We love date nights.

Sometimes we splurge on a fancy dinner or activity and sometimes we’re chillin in sweatpants at home. Either way, date night does not mean that you have to spend a lot of money.

Sure it’s cool to do something super special every now and then but you can absolutely spend quality time with your boo for free. Here are a few of my favorite free date night ideas.

Book an Airbnb Experience for your At-Home Date Night:

This is one of my favorite things. Ever. We started doing this last year and now it’s our monthly tradition during Quarantine !

Both of us love to travel and experience new things- whether its taking a pasta making class in Italy or visiting a beautiful Winery in Greece. For sure, we cannot do that physically right now, but we can do it virtually!. Airbnb has so many fun experiences from wine tasting, pasta making to touring a city virtually.

We honestly love the virtual Airbnb experiences. You can book a group experience as well on there, if you want to include your girlfriends and family members. Also, its quite affordable.

Some of our favorite experiences so far:

Pasta Making

Cocktails

Tiramisu class

Moroccan Food Class

Themed Dinner date:

We might do this one for this Valentine’s Day!. Instead of going to a restaurant, pick a cuisine both of you like and cook together with a side of some romantic music. Set the tone. Get dressed. Instead of eating on the couch, set up the dining room table restaurant style. Complete with plates, napkins, silverware, water glasses, candles etc.

Serve cocktails that match your theme. We recently did a mexican themed dinner date at home, where we served homemade Margaritas. Honestly it was so good, that we make it frequently now.

You can also take turns playing chefs, if you want. Recently for our anniversary, Parth made some of my favorite dishes for breakfast. He also made a whole bouquet arrangement by himself rather than getting a store bought bouquet and it was such a special day.

Paint and Wine Night for your At-Home Date Night:

This is so fun. Last year, rather than doing a traditional movie night, we decided to change it up a bit. There’s something about it that just makes a casual night at home that much more fun. It is instantly rewarding.

We bought some canvases from Amazon and followed a youtube tutorial for paint night at home. We picked out something that was easy and spent two hours on it while the movie was playing in the background. It was so much fun and did not cost much.

Candle Making Night:

I love candles and burn them every single day. Recently Parth gave me an idea to have an at-home date night where we can buy some candle making supplies and make our own candles. It was easy but fun!. We also gave some candles to our friends and they loved it as well.

Just like the paint and wine night, there are so many YouTube videos on Candle making. Pick one you like, buy items and you are good to go. Pair this one with a nice themed dinner date and you would have a perfect at-home date night.

If you don’t want to do any of the above, but still want to have a good time at home, something as simple as having a bubble bath with your favorite drink together can be so rewarding.

Let me know in the comments if you have more ideas.
